In 2025, I completed my Master’s in Strategic Communication at Agnes Scott College.
Here are some highlighted works from my studies:
Seeing is Believing, but Feeling is Truth
The Political Potential of Queer Gaze in Hypercapitalist Visual Culture
“Like all forms of production, [graphic design] has been co-opted to serve capitalist interests, but design can be harnessed for any motive. Since the rise of the “adman” in 1960, designers have worked tirelessly to pull the reins of visual culture out of the hands of corporate powers and return them to creatives. Queer designers have led this charge, continuing to produce psychologically impactful work that defies mainstream visual culture. Where capitalist design prioritizes legibility to maximize profit, queer aesthetics embrace the obscure for its transformative potential.”
Above Me, Bethenny Frankel
The Commodification of Femininity in The Real Housewives Franchise
“Upon first watch of any Real Housewives franchise, one quickly wonders, “What constitutes a ‘housewife’?”…Where once housewives were defined by their labor, in late-stage capitalism the public is taught to aspire to passive wealth rather than meaningful work. This has given rise to a redefinition of wives and the broader social role of women that centers the aesthetic and performance of femininity.”
The Scrap Squad
How one Atlanta Nonprofit Makes an Impact on Arts Accessibility and Sustainability
“Stickers rustle as they cascade from their neatly organized bin into the hands of an eager 8-year-old named Harmony. She spreads her treasure out on the floor. Cross-legged, she looks up at Scraplanta team member Elizabeth. “Which ones should I pick today?” she asks.
